Folk Artist Debbie Orlando Morich found her joy when she began to paint. With a Master’s of Education in College Student Personnel and a life-long appreciation of art in all its forms, she considers this calling to be a “happy accident.” In mid-2009, Debbie’s world was forever changed when she was diagnosed with a very rare cancer of the appendix, which had already spread throughout her abdomen. While recovering from what is known as the “mother of all surgeries,” she began exploring art to assist in the healing process.

 Debbie’s intention is to evoke joy and healing in others through inspirational paintings. She loves to use re-claimed surfaces such  as  wood scraps and discontinued wallpaper or metal trays as her canvas. There is a special beauty in bringing a new spark of      freshness to the worn-out pieces of our lives. In gratitude for all who gave her a new energy for healing, she commits to praying intentionally for all who are moved by her art.

One more post for the week. Last night I met a great group of fun people.  Carol and I had a class at Red, Wine, and Brew. Here's a picture of the class and their completed piece.

Live Simply is a nice acrylic painting that brings the warmth and joy of summer to you! This painting will look great in any kitchen, bedroom, or laundry room. Instructor will guide you through the process but of course you can add your own flowery flare. Beginners are welcome. $40 fee includes 16" X 20" canvas, acrylic paints, and supplies, one glass of wine and personal cheese and cracker plate.

Since we are beginning to grow I thought I'd share bios of our artists. They are pretty cool people! Check them out! Today I am sharing Jodi Baldacci. Here's all about her and examples of her work.

Watercolor is Jodi’s primary form of expression.  Her paintings are fresh and filled with expression and feelings.  She has a profound understanding of people.  The viewer is immediately drawn into her rich compositions. Her figures are beautifully rendered, in a simple, direct and natural, gestural manner that reveals her interest in painting inner beauty.

Baldacci is also accomplished in fiber art, acrylic paintings and stained glass work.  With her diverse creativity in both art and writing she has taught classes and workshops for many years.

Here are the pictures I promised! Stella's Art Gallery at Gionino's in Mentor on the Lake, Ohio

I'm impressed! The Gionino's Pizzeria looks great! When I went there on Monday to hang the art they were so busy getting the place together that I just dropped off the art and decided to go today. Well...when I arrived THEY hung all the art! It looks beautiful! I tried my best to take photos but the lighting was a bit challenging. So I guess if you can not see the art well, you might want to see it in person. If you do, enjoy a pizza while you are there! It's delicious! They are now open for business.

EXCITEMENT BREWING in Mentor on the Lake Ohio

I'm very excited to go see out artwork at Gionino's Pizzeria today. I will take pictures and post them here as soon as I can! I'm also looking forward to eating some good pizza!

I have great news! Stella's Art Gallery now has artwork on display and for sale at Gionino's Pizzeria. You will find artwork of Dani Castro Klein, Carol Stellabotte-Pitts, Jodi Baldacci Hager, Debbie Orlando Morich, Julie Hinkel-Orlando, and Giovanni Bocchieri.

Gionino's opened a new restaurant at 7710 Lakeshore Blvd. in Mentor on the Lake. Go and enjoy good food and art! They now have a new dinning area!
