Nancy Nelson-Brotz is an East Coast native who has been part of the arts family in Madison for years through her art education work at Rabbit Run Community Arts Association, the Painesville Recreation Department and the Painesville Senior Center. Nancy earned her Bachelor's Degree in Art from California University of Pennsylvania, where she specialized in printmaking. As fate would have it, she immediately abandoned printmaking for stained glass. After teaching and creating Tiffany-method stained glass for years, she had many scraps, which has led her to her current obsession - mosaics.
She has won many awards for her mosaic work (and even a clay piece).
Nancy currently teaches at Perry Public Library. The library has a free art program. Here are her class descriptions and schedule:
After School Art Club - Fridays, weekly, 4:30-5:30 pm
Local artist, Nancy Brotz will lead a fun (and often messy!) art club weekly after school. Come meet new people and learn about painting, building sculptures, making mosaics, and creating zines. 10/23/2015, 10/30/2015, 11/6/2015, 11/13/2015, 11/20/2015 – with another session starting in January.
Home-school Art Class - Mondays, monthly, 10:00 am
Local artist, Nancy Brotz, will teach a class on the principles and elements of art for home schooled children in grades 1-8. 11/2/2015, 12/7/2015, 1/4/2016, 2/1/2016, 3/7/2016, 4/4/2016, 5/2/2016
Family Art Class - Saturdays, monthly, 11:00 am
Adults and children learn and create together in this fun class with local artist, Nancy Brotz. Open to all ages (8 and under with an adult). 11/7, 12/5 - with another session starting in January.
