Stephanie Pratt McRoberts - Graphic Designer and Mixed Media
Stephanie Pratt Graphics & Mixed Media Designs is a graphic designer and mixed
media artist from Painesville, Ohio. She received her B.A. in Visual Communication Design from Ursuline College in 2013, with additional concentrations in ceramics and metal craft, where she developed a passion for mixed media arts.
Inspired by the complexities around her, her work ranges from clean-cut, methodical designs to gritty,
surreal images with layers of intrigue. While harnessing the beauty of the chaos around her, Pratt creates organic flowing forms which includes ceramic vessels, found objects, natural components, and machine crafted elements which focus around themes of discovery and renewal. Here are a few examples of her work. You can find more on our website www.StellasArtGallery.com.

Another Stella's Art Gallery Artist to Celebrate: Glassthatrocks!
It's time to introduce and feature another Stella's Art Gallery artist. Last week we took a look at Upcycling. This is very similar. The artist collages nature with man-made items. The combination is very strong and pleasing to the eye. So let's meet Glassthatrocks....
Glassthatrocks is owned by Christina Goetter. Christina started Glassthatrocks officially in November 2012. She and her daughter like to collect rocks from the beach, or anywhere really. Her daughter said "Mom you should make something with them." So after some trial and error her first rock mosaic vases were born, hence the name Glassthatrocks! She has since expanded to one of a kind mosaic pieces from pendants to small furniture, made from rocks, semi-precious stones, stained glass, and vintage plates. While some of my items may be similar no two are exactly the same.
Check out her work! Her items are for sale on our website too! www.StellasArtGallery.com

Stella's Art Gallery Presents: Jeff Sivyer, Upcycle Artist Turning Old into New.
Upcycling...What is it? According to Google, up·cy·cle, pronounced ˈəpˌsīkəl/, means to reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of a higher quality or value than the original.
What a wonderful idea! There are so many "items" that with a little love and attention can be brought back to life. Think about all those things sitting on a shelf in your basement or closet going unused. What do you think you can do with them? There are so many possibilities...
We have several artists that incorporate upcycling into their work. We have one particularly that does as his main media. Today I would like to introduce Jeff Sivyer and here's his story...
Jeff received a stack of scratched up 33rpm records one day from a young friend. They were in no shape to be put on his turntable but he didn't want to throw them out. He let them sit on a shelf for months and then one day it came to him! There is a hole in the center and wondered if he could get clock parts to fit. That led to some exploration and experiments. Soon he was finding all kinds of creative things to do with old records, pendulum clocks, bowls, lights, and tables. This led Jeff to experiment with old turntables that were no longer working and turned them into clocks, which has worked! It has been a great creative endeavor. He hopes to find homes for all his projects. You can see his clocks at www.StellasArtGallery.com. All are for sale for very reasonable prices. Free shipping in Lake County, Ohio.
Jeff has a large collection of records and if you have a favorite musician that you'd like to commemorate, just ask! He'll probably have it!
So what are you going to make out of your old things? I hope this motivates you to rummage through those dark closets and basements! When you make something, please share. We'd love to see your work!
